These pictures are from last week. I’m remembering it fondly, as this week has been gray and dreary. Rain was pouring this morning, so I sighed and took the L train to work. I’ll be back tomorrow with a report of my new commute.

P.S. I’m rarely able to take good pictures of other cyclists going by, but I managed to snap the one above. Note that she has a Jimmy Choo bag on the handlebars of her vintage Schwinn. Only when I was cropping this picture to post did I notice that her pants legs are tucked into her socks. Thank you, anonymous beauty, for proving that tucked hems can be stylish.

    She looks a little concerned that you’re taking her photo. Marc (at Amsterdamize) takes tons of photos, candidly, of bicyclists around A’dam (and last week in NYC).

    I pull out my camera, but I don’t feel comfortable taking pictures of other cyclists. I’ll stick to ringing my bell.

    I got into the pantleg rolling / sock tucking aesthetic on Cape Cod this summer, when I only had my roadbike with me. It really can be tres chic if you work it right!

    looks gorgeous!! i am missing fall, too…it poured on monday and tuesday here. while i biked in the rain monday, i wasn’t so brave on tuesday after having spent the previous day dripping everywhere i went.

    i love the girl with the pants tucked in to her socks–surely it will be en vogue soon.

    This last weekend I did see an older gentleman (who clearly had NOT arrived at the concert by bicycle) unintentionally rocking the right-leg only tuck-in. I thought about telling him he looked like a cyclist, but I thought I might just confuse him.
